THE WAR AND TREATY

The internationally recognized open-air festival, the JAS Labor Day Experience, takes place at Snowmass Town Park with the spectacular Elk Mountain Range as a backdrop. Catering to crowds of up to 10,000 people daily, the festival features one main stage and one side stage, the JAS Village, including food, craft, and merchandise vendors, a kid’s corner, and one of the country’s most exclusive VIP experiences.

Previous performers include Foo Fighters, Stevie Wonder, Sting, Keith Urban, John Mayer, Chris Stapleton, The Lumineers, Stevie Nicks, Gwen Stefani and Jimmy Buffett.

Unlike most music festivals, which showcase artists on multiple stages from early in the day until late at night, the JAS Experience is a more “boutique” festival, with performances on just two stages.

The music starts later in the afternoon, allowing attendees time to enjoy some of the Aspen/Snowmass area’s many activities, such as biking, fishing, hiking, golfing, rafting, shopping, and more, prior to doors opening.

Festivities

The 2024 JAS Experience will feature a diverse mix of music on the main stage, including headliners Brandi Carlile, Sting, and Tim McGraw, alongside earlier acts such as OneRepublic, The Black Crowes, Lukas Nelson, The War and Treaty, and Michael Marcagi. The diversity of the artists speaks to the diversity of the crowd, with attendees including everyone from local ski bums to the multi-millionaires that call Aspen their second home, to Front Range families looking for a weekend in the mountains, to the adventurous travelers from all over the world. You are sure to make new friends as soon as you hit the festival grounds!

The JAS Village is the spot to be in between the main stage acts, with up-and-coming bands performing on the side stage alongside local student musicians participating in JAS’ multiple local music education programs.

Local craft and food vendors are abundant, offering a unique shopping and dining experience. Thai, BBQ, funnel cake, pizza, Indian food, and so much more! Enjoy a meal with a tasty beverage from one of the many bars and specialty bars available.

Bringing the kiddos? Keep them busy at the JAS Kiddie Corner, which features face painting, clowns, games, and, of course, balloons!

Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your Labor Day Experience

BE PREPARED! Make sure to check out the event FAQ for all you need to know before you go. Here are a few tips you definitely don’t want to miss:

Layer it up! The weather in the Rockies is unpredictable, so be ready for anything. It can be extremely warm earlier in the day, only to turn chilly once the sun goes down. And don’t forget your sunscreen!

Take the bus! There is no parking on the festival site with the exception of VIP passes. Bus transportation to and from the event is free and easy. Check the schedules prior to heading out.

JAS has a clear bag policy. Only clear bags (12″ x 5″ or 12′ & smaller) or small clutch purses (6″ x 9″ or smaller) will be allowed into the event. JAS will have bags available for purchase leading into the event, as well as at the event itself. Unclear purses, backpacks, or other bags of any kind will NOT be allowed.
