SUMMARY:Jimmie Vaughan & The Tilt-A-Whirl Band - JAS June Experience
DESCRIPTION:LISTEN TO JIMMIE VAUGHAN\nWhen it comes to the blues today\, there are a handful of guiding lights to make sure the music stays true to its history. For Jimmie Vaughan\, he’s dedicated his life to making sure the blues not only stays alive\, but remains full of life and an inspiration to all who listen. For almost 60 years\, Vaughan isn’t about to stop now. \nAs a bandleader\, singer and guitarist\, the four-time Grammy Award winner\, Jimmie Vaughan is a master of how everything is captured for posterity. “Playing what you feel has always been my main goal\,” Vaughan says. His first group at 13 played Dallas’ Hob Nob Lounge six nights a week\, learning lessons that have to be lived. Opening for Jimi Hendrix at 16 and being influenced by B.B. King\, Muddy Waters\, Albert King\, and Freddie King convinced him to focus on the blues. \nIn the early 70s\, he hitchhiked to Austin\, forming a new crew of blues players and The Fabulous Thunderbirds\, whose debut album Girls Go Wild was released in 1979. After worldwide success with the band\, he and his brother Stevie Ray Vaughan released Family Style. His first solo album on Epic Records in the early 90s allowed him to explore new sides of the blues. \nJimmie Vaughan continues his love affair with\, and spiritual connection to\, the American music he loves.

DESCRIPTION:Friday\, June 26 | 6:45 pm & 8:45 pm | W Hotel \nLISTEN TO ALLY VENABLE\nTexas blues-rock singer/songwriter and guitarist extraordinaire\, Ally Venable entertains wherever she goes. With her signature glitter dresses and black knee-high boots\, Venable comes off of the ropes swinging dazzling crowds on tour and throughout the festival circuit. “Venable pulls off a stunner of gritty and/or sultry blues rock tunes embellished with lots of tasty guitar solos.” – Guitar Player Magazine. \nA Kilgore\, Texas native\, Ally began singing at church at four and picked up the guitar at age 12. By 13\, she started her own band and through her early influence of Stevie Ray Vaughan captured the passion and yearning for more in the blues genre. Early releases No Glass Shoes (2016) and Puppet Show (2018) started her fanbase\, charting radio play and several East Texas Music Awards. It was 2019’s #2 Billboard Blues charting Texas Honey and sets on Ruf’s European Blues Caravan tour that propelled her internationally. \nIn her 20’s\, Venable released another Blues Billboard charting album\, Heart of Fire (2021)\, which challenged her to write about love and the unguarded honesty of feeling pain\, creating a tone of overcoming struggles and persevering. Mentor Kenny Wayne Shepherd lends his guitar skills on “Bring on the Pain.”

SUMMARY:The James Hunter Six
DESCRIPTION:The James Hunter Six \nEarly Show | $75 Main Room Seating – $30 Bar Seating \nLISTEN TO THE JAMES HUNTER SIX\nOff the Fence by The James Hunter Six marks a significant milestone in James Hunter’s career\, reflecting his past\, present\, and future. The album arrives 40 years after his 1986 debut and features a notable collaboration with longtime supporter Van Morrison\, who lends his voice to “Ain’t That a Trip.” \nHunter’s musical journey began in Colchester\, Essex\, sparked at age nine by a Jackie Wilson record that introduced him to soul music. Influenced by artists such as Ray Charles and Sam Cooke\, he developed a style defined by groove\, phrasing\, and understated wit. His early recordings with Howlin’ Wilf And The Veejays revealed a sound that was already fully formed. \nDespite industry challenges\, including struggles to secure a record deal\, Hunter’s breakthrough came with People Gonna Talk\, which earned a Grammy nomination and topped the Billboard Blues Chart. His career has since expanded internationally\, performing alongside artists such as Aretha Franklin and Willie Nelson. \nWith Off the Fence\, his eleventh studio album\, Hunter continues to blend soulful vocals\, sharp songwriting\, and rhythmic precision. The record reflects his enduring commitment to groove\, storytelling\, and the emotional depth that defines his work. \n
