SUMMARY:The Breaks
DESCRIPTION:LISTEN TO THE BREAKS\nRoberts • Walter • Moore \nWhen three masters of modern funk and soul-jazz converge\, sparks are bound to fly. The Breaks brings together guitarist Eddie Roberts (The New Mastersounds)\, drummer Stanton Moore (Galactic)\, and organist Robert Walter (The Greyboy Allstars)\, three musicians whose collective groove has shaped contemporary funk for over two decades. \nRooted in the tradition of late-’60s organ trios and hard-hitting boogaloo\, The Breaks pushes the sound forward with deep-pocket rhythms\, tight arrangements\, and fearless improvisation. Roberts’ sharp\, melodic guitar work dances over Moore’s explosive New Orleans-infused drum grooves\, while Walter’s signature Hammond organ tones tie it all together with grit and soul. \nBetween them\, they’ve logged countless tours\, recorded landmark albums\, and collaborated with some of the biggest names in modern jam\, funk\, and jazz. Together\, their chemistry feels spontaneous\, with three musicians locking into a groove and letting it ride. \nFrom intimate club sets to major festival stages\, The Breaks delivers a sound that’s both deeply rooted and constantly evolving\, celebrating rhythm\, improvisation\, and exceptional musicianship.

SUMMARY:Tommy Emmanuel\, CGP
DESCRIPTION:LISTEN TO TOMMY EMMANUEL\nHailed as “one of the best acoustic guitarists in the world” by NPR’s World Cafe\, Tommy Emmanuel got his start at age six\, when he began touring his native Australia with his family’s band. As a teenager\, he earned a reputation as a highly sought-after sideman and session player\, and by his early twenties\, Emmanuel was playing on chart-topping hits and performing with acts like Air Supply and Men at Work. \nInspired in part by his hero\, Chet Atkins\, who later became a friend\, mentor\, and collaborator\, Emmanuel stepped out on his own as a solo artist in 1979. His acclaimed instrumental albums helped establish him as one of the world’s most celebrated acoustic guitarists\, known for his extraordinary fingerstyle technique and blend of pop\, jazz\, classical\, and roots influences. \nOver the decades\, Emmanuel has headlined venues from the Sydney Opera House to Carnegie Hall\, toured with Eric Clapton and John Denver\, won a GRAMMY Award for Best Instrumental Arrangement\, and performed at the Sydney Olympics for a televised audience of more than two billion. He has also collaborated with guitar greats including Les Paul\, Mark Knopfler\, Joe Walsh\, Richard Thompson\, Jason Isbell\, and Billy Strings. \nRecorded in just four days\, his latest album\, Living In The Light\, fuses his diverse musical influences into a virtuosic collection that is as exhilarating as it is intimate.

SUMMARY:Veronica Swift with the Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra - Supper Club
DESCRIPTION:LISTEN TO VERONICA SWIFT\n“She has a miraculous voice\, musical ability and technique\, as well as an innate gift for entertaining a crowd.” — The Wall Street Journal \nVeronica Swift has established herself as one of her generation’s most distinctive voices in jazz. Throughout her childhood\, she toured nationally with her parents\, jazz musicians Hod O’Brien and Stephanie Nakasian\, performing at renowned clubs and festivals. She recorded her first album at age nine\, launching a career that has included a second-place finish at the 2015 Thelonious Monk Jazz Competition\, a twice-yearly residency at Birdland Jazz Club\, performances with Chris Botti and Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra\, and recordings with Jeff Goldblum. \nHer 2021 album\, This Bitter Earth\, received a five-star review and the cover of DownBeat magazine\, and in 2024\, she was honored with a French knighthood as Chevalier in the Order of Arts and Letters. \nWhile her first two Mack Avenue releases established her as a master of scat improvisation and conceptual song cycles\, her self-titled 2023 album revealed an artistic direction extending beyond jazz into theatrical glam rock. She also co-founded the band DAME with The Dresden Dolls’ Brian Viglione. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2022\, Swift has pursued rock collaborations with artists including David Bowie pianist Mike Garson\, Luke Spiller of The Struts\, guitarist John Notto of Dirty Honey\, and The Lemon Twigs. Her expansive artistic voice remains firmly intact regardless of genre. \nColorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra\nFounded in 2012 by bandleader Art Bouton\, the Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra (CJRO) brings together some of the region’s finest musicians and world-renowned guest artists to perform dynamic big band classics and contemporary jazz.
