SUMMARY:Butcher Brown
DESCRIPTION:LISTEN TO BUTCHER BROWN\nButcher Brown is a multifaceted band from Richmond\, Virginia\, whose genre-blurring sound seamlessly blends jazz\, hip-hop\, rock\, funk\, R&B\, alternative\, soul\, country\, house\, bossa nova\, pop\, and more. Friends and bandmates Corey Fonville (drums)\, Andrew Randazzo (bass)\, Morgan Burrs (guitar)\, Marcus “Tennishu” Tenney (trumpet\, saxophone\, vocals)\, and Devonne “DJ Harrison” Harris (multi-instrumentalist) make music as diverse as their own varied tastes and backgrounds. \nThe band calls its sound “Solar Music\,” also the title of its second release on Concord Jazz and follow-up to 2020’s #KingButch. More than simply a description\, Solar Music is an invitation to listen and feel. “We are the melting pot. We are the mix\,” says Harris. Known for their dynamic live performances\, Butcher Brown has connected with audiences on stages across the globe\, creating music that crosses genres and generations. \nRecorded over multiple sessions at Montrose Recording\, Minimum Wage Studios\, and their home base\, Jellowstone\, Solar Music reflects the band’s evolving approach to songwriting\, production\, and collaboration. The album features contributions from artists including Nappy Nina\, Pink Siifu\, Jay Prince\, Charlie Hunter\, and Vanisha Gould. Blending exceptional musicianship with an openness to new sounds\, Butcher Brown continues to push creative boundaries while making music that is\, as Tenney describes it\, “for everybody.”
