With the ongoing unpredictability surrounding the COVD-19 pandemic, in accordance with state and county guidance on large gatherings, and in consultation with local public health officials and myriad leaders of important local organizations, Jazz Aspen Snowmass (JAS) will be postponing and re-scheduling the 2020 Labor Day Experience to Sept. 3-5, 2021. The health and safety of our audiences, staff and artists must come first during this difficult time. Fortunately, all artists scheduled to perform in 2020, including Stevie Nicks, Eric Church, Kings of Leon and Maren Morris, have committed to the September 3-5, 2021 dates. Additional artists will be announced at a later date. Tickets will remain on-sale for the event based on the new dates.

This was not the 30th Anniversary Season celebration JAS contemplated but this action must be taken as we stand with our fellow Arts organizations in Aspen and beyond.

JAS continues to offer private music lessons for students of all ages virtually through our Pays to Play program, and we have instructors working virtually with classes throughout the Valley. In addition to these initiatives we plan to continue to offer comprehensive and robust programming in the Fall when schools resume. For these reasons we ask, if you are in a position to help, that you consider donating the ticket value rather than ask for a refund. Your generous support is vital in helping JAS Keep the Music Playing especially during challenging moments such as this one.

Your donation of the ticket value is fully tax deductible.

For ticket holders of the 2020 JAS Labor Day Experience, the following options are available:

Labor Day Experience General Admission Tickets:

  • Keep the Music Playing and Donate your tickets:  Turn the value of your ticket(s) into a tax-deductible donation to JAS programming. We greatly appreciate your support and faith in JAS!  Make your donation by visiting us here.
  • Help JAS Survive and Thrive by Transferring: Ticket holders can transfer their 2020 Labor Day Experience to the 2021 Experience
    • If you wish to transfer your tickets to the 2021 Experience, no further action needs to be taken.  Your ticket order will be valid for next year’s event.
  • Refund: Ticket holders must request a refund by Tuesday, June 9, 2020.  Refunds will be made to your original form of payment. Request your refund by visiting us here.
  • Please Note: The “We Trust JAS” Passes purchased in November 2019 are not applicable for a refund. Ticket holders will automatically have their tickets transferred to the 2021 Experience and no action will be required on your part unless you would like to donate them.

These policies only apply to purchases directly through JAS.  We are not responsible for 3rd party sales.

The Labor Day postponement follows the earlier announced JAS June Experience postponement, with all June acts confirming they too would return for the 2021 dates. JAS is exploring options to keep the JAS Café Summer Series shows in place while observing all government social and safety mandates. An announcement on those performances will be made in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, rest assured JAS will be here to help the healing and be part of the revival of our home, our spirits and our economy.  We promise we will all commune one way or another on our festival weekends for many years to come. Aspen and the Arts have an inseparable history, and, future together. It cannot be otherwise. As always, we have some other things in store as well, so stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks. Until then, be present, be kind, be open, be together and stay strong. Together, we will Keep the Music Playing!
