Jazz Aspen Snowmass (JAS) announced today that due to unforeseen circumstances Tim McGraw has cancelled his appearance scheduled for Sept. 1st at the upcoming JAS Labor Day Experience. Multi-platinum singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley will replace McGraw, closing out the festival that Sunday.

A release from McGraw’s team stated, “After a lengthy and physical summer tour, in close consultation with his doctors, Tim McGraw will undergo necessary orthopedic surgery on both knees this month due to an injury sustained on tour.  Unfortunately, this will prevent him from performing any shows for the remainder of this year, and he will not be appearing at the JAS Labor Day Experience on September 1st. Tim hates to disappoint fans, but he intends to rest and do physical therapy so he can deliver tremendous concerts for many years to come.”

Dierks Bentley “has one of Country music’s most enviable brands, equal parts affability and authenticity” (Forbes). Reaching a new creative high while “making music designed to challenge” (New York Times), Bentley co-wrote 10 of his current album THE MOUNTAIN’s 13 tracks, which earned him the highest debut sales  of his career and became his seventh chart-topping album. Bentley has amassed 17 career number ones, billions of digital streams, countless nominations from the  ACMs, Billboard Music Awards and more while earning 13  GRAMMY  nominations – including at least one stemming from each of his last six albums.

“We consider ourselves very lucky that Dierks is performing a sold-out show at Red Rocks the night prior and was available to sub for Tim McGraw at the last minute,” said Jim Horowitz, JAS President and CEO. “We won’t skip a beat! Dierks high energy performance will be a great closing night show.”
