Kenton Luck

Kenton Luck is a trombonist and composer from Los Angeles, California.With both parents as music educators, he was exposed to wind ensemble and big band music at an early age.In 2017, he graduated from Thousand Oaks High School and moved across country to develop his small ensemble playing and composition at the University of Miami, Frost School of Music.

Kenton is an Eagle Scout and also a University if Miami Foote Fellow Scholar.He has studied trombone from Dante Luciani, Charlie Morillas, Ira Nepus, and Alex Iles. In addition to studying composition and arranging from Dr. Stephen Guerra, Dr. Teresa LeVelle, and Gary Lindsay.

Through the Frost School of Music, Kenton has performed at the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival with the StudioJazz Band and the Jazz Vocal 1 Ensemble.He has also performed with Wayne Bergeron, John Daversa, John Beasley, Christine Jensen, and John Fedchock.

Upon finishing his music degree next spring. Kenton plans to continue studying writing music while forming a band in Los Angeles.
