Put on your Chef coats and get ready to cook for a good cause! Jazz Aspen Snowmass is partnering with Woody Creek Distillers and Mixn Match to present a Harvest Feast Virtual Cooking and Mixology demo with proceeds benefitting local JAS Music Education programs. Denver/Boulder based Chef Biju Thomas will walk attendees through a delicious meal of pan seared duck, sauté of fall root vegetables in a peach glaze, and butter poached spaetzle, all paired with a delicious Woody Creek Harvest Mule which a local mixologist will walk guests through preparing.
Chef Biju will be cooking in a local residence and walking participants through each step during the live stream. Thomas is a professional Chef known for light, simple dishes bursting with bold flavors. He has designed menus of many successful restaurants in Denver and Boulder and has launched his own restaurant, Biju’s Little Curry Shop, in Denver’s RiNo neighborhood.
“Mixn Match is thrilled to be working with JAS on this amazing and innovative event. While we love great food and preparing a delicious meal, our real goal is to connect people and deliver a fun, social experience that brings people closer together,” said Reed Rowley of Mixn Match, a new venture that offers exclusive access to book some of Colorado’s best chefs and mixologists. “In addition to hosting virtual events, we are also creating a new channel for people in Aspen to book their favorite local chefs for in-home, private dining experiences. It’s an amazing way to support local culinary talent and to offer Aspen clients an exclusive in-home dinner party experience that is safe, custom tailored, and totally gourmet.”
Meal preparation will be followed by music featuring local JAS students, highlighting the work they have been doing digitally while schools remain closed. JAS has continued much of their music education initiatives throughout the summer and fall adjusting to the school closures and social distancing directives, including providing private music lessons online, hosting virtual summer camps, purchasing equipment for students and instructors to improve virtual learning, and providing instructors to assist in the virtual classes taking place throughout Roaring Fork Valley Middle and High Schools.
Ticket options for the Harvest Feast include a local premium package for two which includes prepped ingredients for the meal, a bottle of Woody Creek vodka and cocktail mixers, all delivered to your home the day prior to the demonstration (Roaring Fork Valley residents only). Also available is a VIP Virtual Experience, perfect for guests outside of the Valley, that includes a list of ingredients sent in advance with a link to purchase from your local preferred grocery store. For those who prefer not to cook along but would enjoy the entertainment, a donation of $25 offers the link to view the demonstration live.
