Joseph Trahan

Joseph Trahan is a baritone saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, composer/arranger, and educator based in Denton, Texas. He recently received his Jazz Studies degree from the University of North Texas, where he studied under Brad Leali. During his time at UNT, Trahan spent two semesters as a member of the Grammy-Nominated One O’Clock Lab Band under the direction of Alan Baylock. Trahan has had the privilege of working with great artists like Gary Smulyan, Regina Carter, Michael Abene, Dan Haerle, Lynn Seaton, Walt Weiskopf, Eric Alexander, and Tom Harrell. As a sought after baritone saxophonist in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, he has played with groups such as the Rebel Alliance Jazz Ensemble, the Dallas Jazz Orchestra, Pecos River Brass, and the South Paw Preachers. Beginning in the fall of 2021, Joseph plans to pursue a Masters in Music from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. For his music career, Joseph intends to play in a military band, release his own original music, create social media content, maintain his private studio, and publish jazz educational method materials.
