Joseph Miller
Joseph Miller is a native of Miami, FL where he attended New World School of the Arts. He currently attends Manhattan School of Music under the direction of Ingrid Jensen. Music has been apart of his life ever since he was born. Coming from a musical family, it is a part of him that can never be replaced. Joseph has been playing the alto saxophone for six years beginning as a classical saxophonist and being introduced to jazz later on. Throughout his musical career, he has made some incredible accomplishments. He was awarded the Gold Coast Jazz Society Scholarship and the 88.9 WDNA Radio Scholarship to participate in the Litchfield, Connecticut and the Port Townsend, Washington Jazz Festivals. He was also selected into the Thelonious Monk Institute’s Peer to Peer Jazz Tour where he toured for a week with Delfeayo Marsalis. He also participated in CommFest held at Northwestern University where he accompanied broadway legends Heather Headley, Richard Kind, and Brian D’Arcy James. Joseph Miller has also had the privilege to play with world renowned musicians such as Michael Dease, Brian Lynch, Melton Mustafa, Brandford and Wynton Marsalis, Victor Goines, Marcus Roberts, Sammy Nestico, and Doc Severinsen from the Tonight Show. Joseph Miller loves to perform and plans to continue making music and bring smiles to the faces of those who listen.
