Andrew Torgelson

Andrew Torgelson is an up and coming artist in the LA area who is devoted to sharing his music with the world. Born in Seattle, Andrew first discovered music making when he joined the renowned Northwest Boychoir at the age of 6. Shortly after, Andrew took up the saxophone and fell in love with the music of Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane and Ben Webster. Andrew is currently a student at the USC Thornton School of Music, where he is honing his craft. He has been closely mentored by Bob Mintzer, Bob Sheppard and Kathleen Grace. Andrew has performed around the world in venues such as Benaroya Hall, Lincoln Center, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Montreux Jazz Festival, Jazz a Vienne and the Umbria Jazz festival. One of his most notable achievements is performing Dutilleux’ Shadows of Time with the Seattle Symphony, in which the recording was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2014.
