Ten Things to Know About Cory Henry!
- Cory is a former member of Snarky Puppy, during his time with the band they were awarded three GRAMMYS.
- Cory has collaborated with multiple artists including Imagine Dragons, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kanye West, Ledisi and Ty Dollar $ign.
- Born in Brooklyn, NY, Cory began playing the piano and Hammond B3 organ at just two years old.
- Henry’s third solo album “Best of Me,” was “a collection of songs written and inspired by (his) musical heroes,” including Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway, P-Funk and James Brown.
- Henry played a show at the Apollo Theater when he was just six years old.
- In 2024, his album “Live at the Piano,” was a GRAMMY nominee for Best Alternative Jazz Album.
- In February 2024 Henry released his first Gospel album “Church,” which embodies his musical experiences growing up in Brooklyn’s Unity Temple Church.
- In March 2024 Cory was named Jazz Pianist of the Year at the Pianote Awards.
