Ten Things to Know About Cory Henry!

  1. Cory is a former member of Snarky Puppy, during his time with the band they were awarded three GRAMMYS.
  2. Cory has collaborated with multiple artists including Imagine Dragons, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kanye West, Ledisi and Ty Dollar $ign.
  3. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Cory began playing the piano and Hammond B3 organ at just two years old.
  4. Henry’s third solo album “Best of Me,” was “a collection of songs written and inspired by (his) musical heroes,” including Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway, P-Funk and James Brown.
  5. Henry played a show at the Apollo Theater when he was just six years old.
  6. In 2024, his album “Live at the Piano,” was a GRAMMY nominee for Best Alternative Jazz Album.
  7. In February 2024 Henry released his first Gospel album “Church,” which embodies his musical experiences growing up in Brooklyn’s Unity Temple Church.
  8. In March 2024 Cory was named Jazz Pianist of the Year at the Pianote Awards.
  9. Henry’s 2016 NPR Tiny Desk concert with his band the Funk Apostles became a viral sensation, with nearly 2 million views to date.
