Leo Folsom

Pianist, composer and singer Leo Folsom is a passionate musician who has already achieved great involvement in the short time he has been on the scene. His musical interests include yet search beyond, traditional genres to develop a personal perspective. A native of Seattle, Washington, Folsom began playing professionally as a sideman and leader at the age of 15 in and around the Seattle area. In high school, he was part of the fertile and productive Roosevelt Jazz Band, through which he had the opportunity to play in New York, Reno, and throughout Southern France and Northern Italy for such festivals as the Essentially Ellington Competition & Festival, Toulon Jazz Festival, and Umbria Jazz Festival. Since 2016 he has been thriving in the Miami music scene, both at the Frost School of Music in pursuit of a bachelor of music in jazz piano and in the performance community. Some of his achievements, in this time as a professional musician, include winning awards for best jazz composition in his category in the 2015 and 2016 Downbeat Awards, as well as being selected for the 2015 All Northwest Honors Jazz band.
