Nicholas Roels

Nick Roels brings versatility, a deep pocket, and a hard swing to the music that he plays. Originally stemming from the Seattle suburb of Redmond, Washington, Nick Roels has performed with countless groups ranging in styles such as Big Band, Motown, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, Funk, Gospel, Contemporary Christian, and more. A recent graduate from the University of North Texas, Nick Roels started performing on the drumset at the age of 13 with his middle school jazz ensemble, and has risen to become a sought-after drummer and collaborator. Roels has played and performed with Russell Malone, Regina Carter, Kristin Korb, Helen Sung, Brad Leali, Davy Mooney, and more. Roels has also studied with countless of the world’s best drummers, including Billy Hart, Carl Allen, Terri Lynn Carrington, Alvester Garnett, Quincy Davis, Jose Aponte, Stockton Helbing, and Steve Barnes.

In addition to performing, Nick Roels is also a sought-after composer, arranger, recording engineer, and teacher. Roels often writes original compositions and arrangements for Big Bands, Marching Bands, Wind Ensembles, and Film Scores, engineers and produces various recordings and EPs, and regularly teaches drum set, percussion, piano, guitar, music theory, and composition throughout the DFW Metroplex.
