February 9th and 10th, 2018 top jazz student musicians from across the Western Slope gathered in Carbondale, CO for the annual JAS District 8 Honor Jazz Program, sponsored by Jazz Aspen Snowmass. Over the two days they worked with top professional musicians and instructors from across the state to put together a 3-4 song showcase.

On Saturday, February 10th the students showed off their hard work in a FREE public performance at Roaring Fork High School in Carbondale, CO. Divided into four bands and one choir group, the students come from Middle and High Schools throughout the Roaring Fork Valley, Rifle, New Castle, Palisade, Eagle/Vail, Summit County, Steamboat Springs and more.

Prior to the show JAS hosted a pre-concert reception at Marble Distillery on Main Street in Carbondale for family and friends of the students that were preforming. Here they enjoyed delicious craft cocktails, an array of snacks, and learned more about JAS and our programs that could help their students progress their music education.

The whole night was roaring success with a packed auditorium supporting these hardworking students. Each band did a phenomenal job and wowed the crowd with what they learned in such a short time!
