Leslie Odom Jr. is making his Aspen debut at JAS June Experience on June 22nd – but who is he? Short answer: one talented individual. A quadruple threat: singer, actor, dancer, and writer – accomplished in all that he has done. So here are some fun and interesting facts about Leslie Odom Jr.

  • He grew up singing in church and never even considered a career on Broadway/singing/dancing until his later teens
  • His first time performing on Broadway in Rent when he was only 17 and still a senior in high school
  • He has been on several TV shows; had a role along side mega stars like Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz in Murder on the Orient Express; starred as Aaron Burr on the original cast of breakout musical Hamilton; and has just recently published a book: Failing Up
  • He has won several awards including:
– 2002 Princess Grace Award in Acting
– 2012 Fred & Adele Astaive Award for Best Dancer
– 2016 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical
– 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album
-2016 Broadway.com Audience Awards for Favorite Onstage Pair
  • Everyone thought he was crazy when he turned down a TV role to star in Hamilton
  • His book Failing Up is best selling on Amazon and was written to inspire, motivate and empower people to go for their dreams
