Jacob Melsha
Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Jacob Melsha is now one of the finest young trombonists on the New York City music scene today. Since moving to New York in 2017 to pursue his Bachelor’s in Jazz Studies at The Juilliard School, he has played with a variety of ensembles around the world. Jacob has played festivals across North and South America as well as in Europe with several different bands and his sextet made their Jazz at Lincoln Center debut in 2020. He is thankful to have been able to study with many incredible teachers including Elliot Mason and Wynton Marsalis, and has played a B.A.C. custom trombone since 2019. Jacob is currently pursuing his Master’s in Jazz Studies at The Juilliard School.
