JAS proudly welcomes Dance Aspen to the Paul JAS Center for our 1st ever collaboration at our new home between JAS & another local Not-for-Profit Arts organization, Dance Aspen.
For this special production, JAS welcomes the mesmerizing Cuban vocal & percussion Duo OKAN! to our stage for a completely spontaneous set of performances with DanceAspen’s dancers, a first-ever format at any JAS performance. The Montreal based multi-JUNO award winning group fuses Afro-Cuban & other global rhythms with jazz, folk & classical sounds …a Latin & world-jazz fusion that has captured audiences globally in recent years. “We’ve given both the Dancers and Musicians the physical room on our stage, to create exciting, spontaneous dances in the moment, inspired by the powerful Cuban music & rhythms of this unique Duo!”, observed Jim Horowitz, Pres. & CEO of JAS. “We hope there will be other not-for-profit collaborations with JAS on the Paul JAS Center stage in the future”
