DWC CPAs & Advisors Commit to Mark Johnson Memorial Fund Matching Gift
with Jazz Aspen Snowmass & the Aspen Festival and School
In the winter of 2025, longtime local musician, educator, and JAS In-Schools faculty member Mark Johnson tragically passed away in a car accident. Following his passing, Jazz Aspen Snowmass and the Aspen Music Festival and School partnered on a community fundraising campaign in Mark’s memory to support the Carbondale Middle and Roaring Fork High School music programs, which Mark was leading force behind. The fund was established to ensure these programs could sustain a full-time music educator. Thanks to the generosity of donors in its first year, the fund enabled the Roaring Fork School District to hire a full-time music teacher at the start of the 2025-26 school year.
Now entering year two of the commitment, DWC CPAs and Advisors, Western Colorado’s largest public accounting and business advisory firm, has generously committed to a matching gift toward the Fund to assist the Roaring Fork School District in supporting the bright future of these school music programs. All donations to the Mark Johnson Memorial Fund will be matched by DWC as they recognize Mark’s dedication to the Roaring Fork Valley music community and the programs he worked so hard to build.
